, initially, police told us they were looking for kim tolefree as well as a 1-year- old child, a girl. her name was -- her name is isaza tolefree. she was described as last wearing a pink shirt with blue bears holding anage and yellow blanket and kim tolefree was last seen wearing a plaid and beige coat, acid washed jeans. we're told the suspect was armed and dangerous. the twist -- and we just got done talking with oakland police and her daughters as well, we're told this may not be a child at all. it may be a case of domestic violence involving drugs. here's what one neighbor said. we don't that have sound right now. we're trying to sort out out the details. a cording -- sort the details. this 1-year-old girl, according had kim tolefree's daughters, the child does not exist. it may have been a matter of a domestic violence case with drugs. pline floor -- brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> we're following developing news out of turkey. a suicide bomber set off explosives killing himself and an embassy security guard. coming up at 7:15, what we are hearing about the group responsible

treated. bogey are expected to be okay. we spoke with neighbors who told us that the mother of the little girl was unable to get to the apartment and save her daughter. we are still trying to get more information from neighbors here this morning. also fire crews still on scene. it's been more than five hours since that initial 911 call came in and they are still trying to determine what caused this fire. there are few of a few dozen neighbors displaced right now. red cross is on scene helping them get somewhere to finish their sleep tonight. reporting live on treasure island clear clap, abc7 news. >> thank you, kira. it's been a strange 30 hours for things coming out of space. the astroid that came close to earth, the meteor that hit russia and just last night a meteor streaked through our sky. a lot of people saw it. >> reports are coming in from around the bay but mostly on the peninsula. a bright blue strike streaking across the western cy around 7:40 tonight. someone claiming to have recorded the meteor while driving down 280 posted this video on youtube. another witness looked at the

for several blocks. one woman nearby told us her 16- year-old son is among a dozen people detained by police for a homicide that took place a few days ago. she questions why police didn't contact her after they detained her son, who's a minor. we saw police question at least three people, and officers say items were removed from the home. members of the s.w.a.t. team were on scene. i was told the fbi has been called to insist in this operation. police have been tight lipped about the investigation. i contacted only oakland's police chief. back here live, we can see that the police have used a robot to go into the home down there. and they said the robot indicated no one was inside. now officers are using dogs to go on the ground and search for suspects. that is the latest from here. if we have more during the newscast, we will of course bring you an update. reporting live in east oakland, amber lee, ktvu, channel 2 news. >>> police in west sacramento say one of their own is behind bars tonight, accused of sexually assaulting six women while on duty. 37-year-old sergio alvarez is currently in

this morning. it's a bellwether for the nation's economy. rebecca jarvis is here with us. what are they saying about the economy? >> looking backwards walmart had a good christmas, that holiday sales worked out well for them they earned more than wall street was expecting, they came in a little light on sales. however, going forward, that's really the question walmart is considered a bellwether for our overall economy and what they told us this morning is that the payroll tax cut is impacting consumers, that pike that we saw at the beginning of the year the 2% hike that takes about $20 out of people's weekly paychecks, that's getting their consumer also gasoline price is up 50 cents in the last month, that's hitting consumers and there's a temporary knock on the consumer because refunds have been delayed. the tax code had to be overhauled as a result of many of the reforms at the end of last year and they're saying their consumer has been hit by delays in the refund checks about $20 billion in refund checks didn't go out on time. >> new information this morning rebecca t

and killing the 13-year-old fairfield girl. kpix 5 reporter tells us that his life seemed to be unraveling. >> reporter: the murder suspect had grown increasingly violent in recent days according to the restraining order documents obtained by the fairfield daily republic newspaper. he lived with his wife here, one of several homes that were swarming with investigators on friday, but recently moved out, given the fact that he and his wife had separated in december. on january 25, she told the court in an application for a restraining order that she and her husband were in the car headed home when he began describing how a woman he had been trying to date had rejected him. "anthony looked at me and said i don't want to scare you, but i have a knife and a gun and i don't want to die alone." at that point she writes she was so afraid her husband was going to kill her that she jumped out of the car as it was moving and escaped into a nearby shopping center. she wrote, "i believe if i brought him back to the house he would kill me and then kill himself." mrs. jones also wrote of another incident

-old anna ayala is accused of lying to protect her son over a gun incident. amy hollyfield joining us now from the women's prison. she and her son will be in court today? >> at 1:30. right now at jail they are preparing to transport her to court to face her new charges. we went inside the jail and asked her if she would give us an interview on camera and officials sat the jail say she told them i'm not interviewing with nobody. here is her new mug shot, this is just taken yesterday after her arrest. she now is charged with being an accessory to a felony and filing a false police report. investigators say she lied to them to cover up for her son and she tampered wit, coming up with another hoax. she is known for the hoax she pulled in 2005. anna ayala spent four years in prison for that claiming she found a finger in a bowl of chili from a san jose wendy's hoping to sue the restaurant. she planted the finger and it belonged to an aquantitiance who lost it in an industrial accident. we tracked down her former landlord this morning and he is not surprised to hear she was arrested. he had to
